International Piano Competition J.S. Bach

in Memoriam Walter Blankenheim

This contest offers young pianists of all nationalities the opportunity to compete together with the aim of promoting and underlining the “Bach Image” both in public concerts and in the field of teaching.

In the contest, candidates should not only demonstrate pianistic and artistic skills, but also a stylistically well-developed Bach interpretation. There is nevertheless room for individual interpretation within the bounds of faithfulness to the text.

We wish the best for all contestants. This success is not necessarily about winning a prize but is above all the intense study of Bach’s works, an encounter with different interpretations, listening, and constructive dialogue.

Sinfonia 13
Prelude in G-sharp minor-green
Sinfonia 3-blue
Sinfonia 13
